Kamika Ekadashi is considered special among all the major Ekadashis. According to the Skanda Purana, on this day, all the sins of human beings are destroyed by the auspicious effect of fasting, worship and charity. Kamika Ekadashi comes to the Vad party of Ashadh month. This month Kamika Ekadashi is 4th August, Wednesday i.e. today. In this vrat, Lord Vishnu is worshiped. A person commits many sins in life, knowingly or unknowingly, which causes the mind to feel remorse, this fast frees him from that sin. But in this vow, if one decides not to make such a mistake against Lord Vishnu again, it will bear fruit. Bathing and giving alms on this festival removes all kinds of sins.
The importance of this vow was told by Brahmaji to Narad-
Listening to the story of Kamika Ekadashi vow is like performing Yajna. About this fast, Brahmaji told Devarshi Narad that people who are afraid of sin should fast on Kamika Ekadashi. Ekadashi fasting is the best way to destroy sin. The Lord Himself has said that no living being is born in Kuyoni by Kamika Vrata. The person who offers Tulsi Pan to Lord Vishnu on this Ekadashi through faith-devotion, stays away from all these sins.
Fasting and worshiping without drinking water fulfills the desires
. Then the idol of Lord Vishnu should be worshiped. The eighth prahar should remain dehydrated by offering flowers, fruits, sesame seeds, milk, panchamrut and other ingredients to Lord Vishnu. That is, Vishnuji's name should be remembered all day without drinking water. Brahmin food and Dakshina are also very important in Ekadashi vrata. In this way the desires of those who keep this vow are fulfilled.
ब्रह्माजी ने देवर्षि नारद को बताया इस एकादशी का महत्व, कामिका एकादशी व्रत की कथा सुनना यज्ञ के समान है
कामिका एकादशी सभी प्रमुख एकादशियों में विशेष मानी जाती है। स्कंद पुराण के अनुसार इस दिन व्रत, पूजा और दान के शुभ प्रभाव से मनुष्य के सभी पाप नष्ट हो जाते हैं। कामिका एकादशी आषाढ़ मास की वड़ पार्टी में आती है. इस महीने कामिका एकादशी 4 अगस्त, बुधवार यानि आज है. इस व्रत में भगवान विष्णु की पूजा की जाती है। जाने या अनजाने में व्यक्ति जीवन में कई पाप करता है, जिससे मन को पछतावा होता है, यह व्रत उसे उस पाप से मुक्त करता है। लेकिन इस व्रत में यदि कोई फिर से भगवान विष्णु के खिलाफ ऐसी गलती नहीं करने का फैसला करता है, तो वह फल देगा। इस पर्व पर स्नान और दान करने से सभी प्रकार के पापों का नाश होता है।
इस व्रत का महत्व ब्रह्माजी ने नारद को बताया था-
कामिका एकादशी व्रत की कथा सुनना यज्ञ करने के समान है। इस व्रत के बारे में ब्रह्माजी ने देवर्षि नारद से कहा कि जो लोग पाप से डरते हैं उन्हें कामिका एकादशी का व्रत करना चाहिए। एकादशी का व्रत पाप नाश करने का सर्वोत्तम उपाय है। स्वयं भगवान ने कहा है कि कामिका व्रत से कुयोनी में कोई भी प्राणी पैदा नहीं होता है। जो व्यक्ति इस एकादशी पर आस्था-भक्ति से भगवान विष्णु को तुलसी पान चढ़ाता है, वह इन सभी पापों से दूर रहता है।
बिना जल पिए उपवास और पूजा करने से मनोकामनाएं पूर्ण होती हैं
. फिर भगवान विष्णु की मूर्ति की पूजा करनी चाहिए। भगवान विष्णु को फूल, फल, तिल, दूध, पंचामृत और अन्य सामग्री अर्पित करने से आठवां प्रहर निर्जलित रहना चाहिए। यानी बिना पानी पिए विष्णुजी का नाम पूरे दिन याद रखना चाहिए। एकादशी व्रत में ब्राह्मण भोजन और दक्षिणा का भी बहुत महत्व है। इस प्रकार इस व्रत को रखने वालों की मनोकामनाएं पूरी होती हैं।
