Worship of Lord Vishnu is very important in Ekadashi. It is mentioned in Skanda Purana that worship of Lord Vishnu removes all kinds of troubles and also fulfills desires. That is why in the scriptures these two Ekadashis mention the special worship of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi as well as the statement of vows. On this Ekadashi, inexhaustible virtue is attained through Tulsi Puja and Anajdan.

Mahabharata and Bhavishya Purana : - In Bhavishya Purana and Ashvamedhik Parva of Mahabharata it is mentioned that worshiping Lord Vishnu on Ekadashi gives special fruits. Worship of Lord Vishnu on both these Ekadashi and Baras dates yields the fruit of five Yajnas. Lord Vishnu should be worshiped along with Lakshmiji in Ekadashi. Doing so increases all kinds of happiness and prosperity.

Ekadashi: - Ekadashi fast holds an important place in Sanatan Dharma. There are 24 Ekadashis every year. When adhikamas or malmas comes, its number becomes 26. This date is considered to remove all kinds of sins and is considered excellent. On this day, desires are fulfilled by fasting and worshiping Vishnu.
August 18, Wednesday: Putrada
Ekadashi: - This Ekadashi falls in the month of Shravan. It is also called Putrada or Pavitra Ekadashi. On this day, by worshiping and fasting Lord Vishnu, children are obtained. If there is a child, this fast is performed for the sake of his longevity and happiness. By fasting and worshiping on this Ekadashi, the sins committed knowingly or unknowingly are removed.

Tulsi Puja and Danathi Akshay Punya: -
After waking up and bathing before sunrise on both these Ekadashi dates , make a vow with Lord Vishnu-Lakshmi and Tulsi Puja. Then morning and evening worship of God is done. On this day fasting is done without eating or drinking anything. But if there is a physical problem, one hundred fruits can be eaten by fasting according to faith. Planting and worshiping the Tulsi plant on this day increases happiness and prosperity. Donating the Tulsi plant on this day removes the sins of many births and the virtue obtained from it is inexhaustible.
Kamika Ekadashi with Dipdan to Pitrushanti: -
Kamika Ekadashi should do Deepdan at night. Satisfied with this, the parents drink nectar in heaven. Explaining the importance of Dipdan on this day, Brahmaji told Maharshi Narad that by lighting Dipdan on Kamika Ekadashi, great sins like Brahmahatya and feticide are also destroyed. The same fruit that is obtained by bathing in tirthas like Ganga, Kashi, Naimisharanya and Pushkar, is obtained by worshiping and fasting Lord Vishnu on this Ekadashi.

महाभारत और भविष्य पुराण :- महाभारत के भविष्य पुराण और अश्वमेधिक पर्व में उल्लेख है कि एकादशी के दिन भगवान विष्णु की पूजा करने से विशेष फल मिलता है। इन एकादशी और बरस दोनों तिथियों में भगवान विष्णु की पूजा करने से पांच यज्ञों का फल मिलता है। एकादशी में लक्ष्मीजी के साथ भगवान विष्णु की पूजा करनी चाहिए। ऐसा करने से सभी प्रकार के सुख-समृद्धि में वृद्धि होती है।

एकादशी :- सनातन धर्म में एकादशी व्रत का विशेष महत्व है। हर साल 24 एकादशी होती हैं। अधिकाम या मलमास आने पर इसकी संख्या 26 हो जाती है। यह तिथि सभी प्रकार के पापों को दूर करने वाली मानी जाती है और उत्तम मानी जाती है। इस दिन व्रत और विष्णु की पूजा करने से मनोकामनाएं पूरी होती हैं।
18 अगस्त, बुधवार: पुत्रदा
एकादशी :- यह एकादशी श्रावण मास में आती है। इसे पुत्रदा या पवित्रा एकादशी भी कहा जाता है। इस दिन भगवान विष्णु की पूजा और व्रत करने से संतान की प्राप्ति होती है। संतान हो तो यह व्रत उसकी लंबी उम्र और सुख के लिए किया जाता है। इस एकादशी का व्रत और पूजा करने से जाने-अनजाने किए गए पाप दूर हो जाते हैं।

इन दोनों एकादशी तिथि को सूर्योदय से पूर्व उठकर स्नान करके भगवान विष्णु-लक्ष्मी व तुलसी पूजन का व्रत करें। फिर सुबह और शाम भगवान की पूजा की जाती है। इस दिन बिना कुछ खाए-पिए उपवास किया जाता है। लेकिन अगर कोई शारीरिक परेशानी हो तो आस्था के अनुसार व्रत करके सौ फल खा सकते हैं। इस दिन तुलसी के पौधे को लगाने और पूजा करने से सुख-समृद्धि में वृद्धि होती है। इस दिन तुलसी के पौधे का दान करने से कई जन्मों के पाप दूर हो जाते हैं और इससे प्राप्त पुण्य अक्षय होता है।
कामिका एकादशी दीपदान से पितृसंति तक:-
कामिका एकादशी को रात के समय दीपदान करना चाहिए। इससे संतुष्ट होकर माता-पिता स्वर्ग में अमृत पीते हैं। इस दिन दीपदान का महत्व बताते हुए ब्रह्माजी ने महर्षि नारद को बताया कि कामिका एकादशी के दिन दीपदान करने से ब्रह्महत्या और भ्रूण हत्या जैसे महान पापों का भी नाश होता है। वही फल जो गंगा, काशी, नैमिषारण्य और पुष्कर जैसे तीर्थों में स्नान करने से प्राप्त होता है, इस एकादशी पर भगवान विष्णु की पूजा और उपवास करने से प्राप्त होता है।
